Healing begins on the Inside

Discovering your inner self involves a process of self-reflection and mindfulness. It begins with quieting external distractions to listen to your thoughts, feelings, and intuitions. Through practices like meditation, journaling, and exploring your values and beliefs, you gain clarity on who you truly are. This process helps you uncover your core desires, strengths, and purpose, leading to a deeper understanding and connection with your authentic self.

About Me

I possess a rare and profound empathic ability—not the fictional kind, but a deeply intuitive gift that allows me to truly understand and connect with the emotions of others, even those they strive to hide. As a psychotherapist and coach, this unique connection sets me apart, providing my clients with an extraordinary level of insight and compassionate care.

Inspired by Malcolm Gladwell’s concept of the “blink” moment, my innate ability is further honed by over 20 years of professional experience. This combination of natural empathy and extensive practice makes me a standout therapist, particularly for women seeking deeper wellness and fulfillment.

I specialize in supporting professional women and athletes as they navigate the complexities of trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, addictions, and eating disorders.

I understand the challenges of feeling inadequate and work diligently to guide my clients on their journey toward well-being and purpose. My empathy is not just professional—it’s personal. Born with a congenital heart defect, I underwent life-changing open-heart surgery at the age of 10, an experience that sharpened my ability to perceive the truth in others from a very young age.

This early experience of resilience set the stage for a life marked by strength and achievement. I have completed 75 half-marathons and numerous shorter races, earning my RRCA running coach certification along the way. The same dedication and empathy I apply to my running define my approach to therapy and coaching.

When I’m not running or preparing for my next race, I treasure time spent with my family, my two dogs, Lucky (a Husky) and Jagger (an Australian Shepherd), and my two grandchildren. As an empath, I value my alone time and find solace in reading, meditation, and yoga.

Services Provided

I have been in practice for over 25 years, and my journey has been both diverse and humbling. I began my career as a therapist working across various sectors. One of my earliest roles involved working with individuals experiencing severe mental illness in a hospital setting. From there, I transitioned to the field of addiction, where I quickly advanced to the role of Director.

My work has also included providing therapy in nursing homes, where I helped residents navigate challenges such as loneliness, depression, and anxiety during their transition to end-of-life care.

I later joined the Department of Defense, working with the Navy in their Family Advocacy Program, addressing issues of domestic violence and child abuse. After four years with the Navy, I moved into private practice, focusing on supporting teens, women, and families dealing with trauma and other mental health concerns.

Upon returning to the East Coast, I took a two-year break from traditional practice to explore coaching and training. During this period, I worked as a corporate trainer, facilitating employee development programs in areas such as anger management, time management, and stress management.

My therapeutic approach integrates various modalities, including Solution-Focused Therapy (which aligns closely with coaching principles), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Dynamics Therapy, and traditional talk therapy.
